About CCMS!

CC!MS is a unique approach to character development. Our program began in 1997 as a grass roots effort initiated by a group of citizens concerned about the future of our children and our society. A member of the national Character Counts! Coalition and the Character Education Partnership, CC!MS promotes the six universal Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.

Founded by Richard T. Allen, CC!MS began working with the schools in Talbot County, Maryland. We initiated the Winners Walk Tall program that bring volunteers from the community into the schools to work with students to infuse character development ideals into the day to day activities in the classroom.

Since then, our scope has broadened to include the central counties of Maryland's Eastern Shore, (Caroline, Dorchester and Talbot with partnerships in Kent and Queen Anne's) and our approach now includes private and public schools, sports programs, civic organizations, the business community, institutions of higher learning, among others. We work closely with the Chambers of Commerce, as well as the Boards of Education in our communities to reach out to as many people as possible.
